Full Card Announced For ONE Friday Fights 71, Headlined By Songchainoi Vs. Rak II

The famous Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, will play host to another thrilling fight card this Friday, July 19.

ONE Friday Fights 71 features 10 high-octane Muay Thai battles that are sure to get the local crowd going, with a pair of MMA matchups lined up to open the Asia primetime show.

At the top of the bill, Songchainoi Kiatsongrit and Rak Erawan will duke it out for the second time in a 116-pound catchweight Muay Thai encounter.

Songchainoi took the win in an absolute barnburner at ONE Friday Fights 41. The 23-year-old dropped Rak twice in the opening frame, but his rival gritted his teeth and fired back, scoring a knockdown of his own in round two.

The Kiatsongrit Muay Thai Gym representative then rebounded to finish strong and get the nod, earning a six-figure contract with ONE’s global roster in the process.

Now 6-0 in ONE following his win over Nicolas Leite Silva at ONE Fight Night 21, Songchainoi wants to go after the strawweight division’s big names with another victory.

Rak has rebounded from his lone ONE defeat with back-to-back victories, and now boasts a 4-1 slate with three knockouts.

The former Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion was caught off-guard by Songchainoi at the start of their first meeting, but he was right there for the rest of the match.

Rak knows he can steal some of the limelight from his surging foe with a victory this Friday. And with intimate knowledge of Songchainoi’s game, the 23-year-old will try to formulate a strategy that can change his fortunes.

Before that, in-form Petlampun Muadablampang will look to improve his 4-0 ONE Friday Fights slate in a 128-pound catchweight Muay Thai battle against decorated promotional newcomer Silangern Lanna Waterside.

Petlampun has scored two KOs in his four wins and always looked dangerous. On the other side, the Siam Omnoi Stadium and Thailand Muay Thai Champion has been active against high-level opposition on the regional circuit and is eager to showcase his skills on the global stage.

There are massive Muay Thai clashes lined up further down the bill, with several recent standouts continuing their hunts for a spot on the global roster.

Knockout artist Chartpayak Saksatoon has notched two stoppages in as many outings, and a third consecutive win over Pornsanae Sor Phumipat in their 130-pound catchweight battle would make a huge statement.

Superball Wankhongohm MBK will try to extend his perfect 3-0 ONE record when he takes on Russian heavy hitter Ilyas Musaev at a 142-pound catchweight, and fellow 3-0 phenom Abdulla Dayakaev is on the same charge against Ongbak Fairtex at bantamweight.

In the MMA matches, Mongolian-Russian athlete Nachyn Sat will meet Russian compatriot Ivan Bondarchuk at featherweight, and Australia’s Faine Mesquita will take on Japan’s Yuka Okutomi at strawweight.
