Superlek To Face Kongthoranee In Flyweight Muay Thai Clash At ONE Friday Fights 68

A massive flyweight Muay Thai showdown between two of the planet’s finest strikers has been scheduled for ONE Friday Fights 68 on June 28.

Current ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion “The Kicking Machine” Superlek Kiatmoo9 will square off with surging Thai scrapper Kongthoranee Sor Sommai live in Asia primetime at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Both men will enter the contest riding incredible winning streaks in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

Widely regarded among the top pound-for-pound strikers in the world, Superlek boasts a nine-fight winning streak that dates back to 2021.

His run includes unforgettable victories over the likes of “Mini T” Danial Williams, long-reigning flyweight Muay Thai kingpin Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangon, and Japanese megastar Takeru Segawa in his latest appearance.

Plus, that years-long streak has featured four highlight-reel knockouts and victories in both Muay Thai and kickboxing.

Never one to rest on his laurels, Superlek’s clash with Kongthoranee will come just three months before he moves up in weight to challenge Jonathan “The General” Haggerty for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title on September 6 at ONE 168: Denver.

Far from a tune-up fight, though, Kongthoranee has established himself as one of Thailand’s top talents.

The Sor Sommai representative made his ONE debut in February of last year, scoring a spectacular knockout over Gingsanglek Tor Laksong at ONE Friday Fights 6.

Since then, he’s employed his ruthless boxing attack, vicious clinch game, and all-action approach to build an 8-1 record in the organization, which includes a seven-fight winning streak.

Most recently, the 27-year-old earned a six-figure contract with ONE Championship following an epic victory over young prodigy Jaosuyai Mor Krungthepthonburi in April at ONE Friday Fights 58.

Kongthoranee will now look to steal Superlek’s #1 ranking in the flyweight Muay Thai division and pick up the biggest win of his career.

Simply put, fans won’t want to miss this high-stakes battle that promises both white-knuckle action and refined striking technique.
